Lucy had a very fun birthday with all her cousins and grandparents there. In the morning we all went for a swim. In the afternoon the Daddy's took all the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. The Mommies were HAPPY to stay home with sleeping babies and chat with Kathleen. Then we had pizza, salad, "brussel salts" (one of Lucy's favorites), and a kitty-shaped chocolate sour cream cake made by Nana. Then there were presents to open and lots more playing. It was so much more fun for her to have all that family around for her birthday.

Lucy in heaven on a Chuck E. Cheese ride. This smile was pasted on her face the whole time she was there. John swears he will not go back to that place for at least a year.
Lucy's birthday dinner choice: Hawaiian pizza and brussel sprouts.
The amazing delicious cat cake (made by Nana, decorated by the Aunties).

Lucy so excited about her kitty cake!
Lucy blowing out her candles with some help from Flora.
Isaac and Flor enjoying the cake too!
Lucy and Nana with her cute new ballerina doll.
Esther with Grandma and Papa Hess at the party.
Lucy modeling her new skirt from Auntie Beth
Lucy showing her dance moves off in her new pretty skirt.
Griffin and Isaac thought it was the best thing ever to stand on Lucy's new scooter box.
That goofy face makes me laugh every time!
We sure love our 4 year-old Lucy. She is always so sweet and sharing with her siblings and parents. Lucy loves to be independent and do things for herself--especially getting herself dressed. She is very creative and we often find her in "Lucy land" as she plays and imagines. She gets a little nervous at night time but thanks to having Esther there with her she usually does okay with an occasional night in Mommy and Daddy's room. Her favorite color is pink and she still LOVES to do puzzles and play games with her family.

James and I threw a party the day that the Chuck E Cheese here in town closed down...or maybe it really hasn't and we just told our kids that!!
