Swimming Lessons

Today Esther finished her first session of swimming lessons. She LOVED it and I had a great time watching her every day. Esther took lessons with four of her friends which was fun for her and for the mommies. I can not believe I have a kid old enough to take swim lessons. I got to feel that parental pride for one of the first times that comes from watching your kid learn and accomplish things. It's amazing. I just love being mom. I was especially proud when Esther went off the diving board. When I say went off the diving board I mean her teacher dropped her off the edge of the diving board and another teacher caught her. But she did do it willlingly and I was proud of her for doing it seeing as she is generally a pretty fearful girl. I asked her if she liked it and she said, "Yes." I asked her if she wanted to do it again and she said, "No." She was so excited to come home and call Daddy and Grandma and tell them about going off the "diamond" board. I loved swimming lessons as a kid and I'm relieved and happy that Esther enjoyed them too!

This was taken on the first day of swimming lessons--Esther and her beau, Brent.

I just had to include this picture of Lucy because it makes me laugh. She is so stoic and funny looking in the Sea World hat (the only hat I can get her to wear).

Esther with a few of her friends and her teachers. The "girl teacher" was Esther's favorite!

Esther experiencing intense shivers after her lesson.

Esther mastering the kickboard with her "girl teacher."

Esther after her last lesson with a sucker and certificate from her teachers.

Could life get any better? In Esther's world suckers and small papers meant for her = pure joy.

Great work, Esther! She is much more brave than her big cousin, Walker, was at that age. She is super adorable.

Yes, Kate you are old :) I love Ester's swim suit, so cute. I saw it at Old Navy and wanted to get it but I don't think Tate would have looked as cute as Ester does in it. When you coming to Utah? Lets get together!

Love the pic of Lucy! It never ceases to amaze me how proud I am of my kiddos -- for every accomplishment. I just hope I don't embarrass them with my stories when they're older.

Way to jump off of the diving board Esther. Wow! I am so impressed. What a big girl. I'm still super scared of the diving board. Is that sad? Darling pictures like always. Where did you find that cute suite?

I am very impressed she jumped off the diving board! Alison wouldn't do that in a million years! HOpe you don't mind we are blog lurking. I found you through Jodi's site. I hope you are having fun on your trip!

What a big girl! I am convinced that no amount of coaxing would have gotten my boys off the diving board at her age. Way to go Esther!

Oh I love that she had swimming lessons! What a little happy fish. How fun that she was in with her friends and her cute beau :). And congrats to Esther for going off the board, that is incredibly brave of her...even if it was just a drop from teacher to teacher. Glad she loves the sun and water like her Mommy!
