I decided I should write about Esther too since it's also her half year mark. I don't think about it as much with her because she's not reaching as many new developmental milestones as Lucy. I cannot believe how big she is getting. Esther is my little pal that likes to help me with everything--laundry, cooking, cleaning, and bossing Lucy. She loves to act like one of the parents to Lu Lu and today when John had to take Lucy out due to a screamy tantrum she looked at me, shook her head and said, "Didaster didaster" meaning: "That Lucy! What are we going to do with her." She can also be really nice and I'll often hear her comforting her saying, "Oh sweetie, it's okay."
Esther loves to read books, especially the Angelina Ballerina series or the Arthur books. Lately, she's even chosen to watch Angelina Ballerina over Dora so that's a pretty big deal for her. She LOVES to dance and is always walking around on her tip toes and showing me her new moves. Esther's favorite food is still cheese and probably her favorite moment of the day is when she gets her cheese stick. Just like her daddy, Esther has a hard time doing a normal smile in pictures (as you can see). If the camera comes out then she immediately goes into silly mode.
Esther has always had lots of fears but lately she's been extra nervous. She does not like to be alone in a room, even if it's hers. If she goes potty she wants me nearby (fortunately not in the bathroom). When it's bedtime, before we have even started getting ready for bed, she starts asking John if he'll sit outside for five minutes and she makes that request at least five times before she crawls into bed. I have asked her what she is so scared about and her latest fears are monsters, woofs (wolves), and bugs. I've explained to her that monsters are definitely not real and no woofs or bugs are going to hurt her but her fear remains. I remember getting really scared at night too when I was a kid and nothing really seemed to help me so maybe this is just a phase we have to get through. Even after John sits outside her room for five minutes she still likes to make sure we are in our room with the door open. I wish I could do more to help her. Esther's favorite toy is her beads, necklaces, and purses. My favorite thing is when my girls play together and laugh together!

I remember when I was around 4, I used to be afraid at night too. I remember specifically asking my mom if the door was locked because I thought dogs would come in in the night! I have no idea where that came from either.
I recognize that box! I didn't know I was inadvertently sending the girls a prize too! :) What perfect fun. Boxes are so under-rated, aren't they! They provide hours of fun and entertainment when you're a little person with a huge imagination. I so can't wait to hug those precious girls soon!
