Streptococcus
That is what is in my throat right now--but hopefully it is starting to slowly die. I hate having this kind of a sore throat--the kind where you want to spit instead of swallow. I took the girls with me to the doctor yesterday morning. They were happy to go with mommy to the doctor--as long as they didn't have to be the patients. When I opted for the penicillin shot instead of the 10 day antibiotics they were shocked. Esther immediately requested to not be in the room when I got the shot. So my two little girls still outside the door while I got a painful shot in the hip. Since I wasn't feeling well it sounded better than taking all three kids to a pharmacy and having to wait for thirty minutes. When we got back from the doctor Esther told me she would be the mom today. She and Lucy were very good to get me blankets, attempt to do the dishes (they thought that was super fun), and then Esther even swept the floor. I'm glad I have such sweet little girls to take care of me. John picked up the slack as soon as he got home--he re-washed the dishes and made the kids some tasty macaroni and cheese (his specialty). I'm glad I'm feeling a little better today--though still not ready to swallow anything non-liquid. Esther volunteered to be the mom again--I told her she could be the co-mom but she wasn't too thrilled about that. I could probably use one more day on the couch anyway...

It's hard to be sick and the mommy at the same time. I'm so glad you have a substitute mommy for emergencies...I wish we could all be so lucky. :) Esther the compassionate nurturer!
oh i'm so sorry! i hope it passed quickly and you are feeling better! darling of the girls to be the mom. i bet they took such loving care of you :)
Way to go girlies! I'm sorry you aren't well. It is simply the worst because you still have to take care of the kiddos. I hope you feel better soon.
I'm just up the street, so let me know if you need anything. No fun at all.
The sickest i have ever been was when i had strep throat. It freaking sucks. I truly feel your pain.
