It hasn't been the best day--my fridge (of one year and four months) stopped working last night. It just got fixed and I am feeling a little better and a little worse (the fix wasn't free or cheap). Also this morning we forgot to get the garbage out in time and that added to my crankiness. It's a good thing I have a very patient husband. And also funny cute kids. Life is good and there are always things to cheer that cheer me up:
Esther saying to me last night after I dyed my hair, "Your hair is RED ALL OVER. Are you OK with that?"
Or Lucy saying as she ran inside yesterday and decided to pick tomatoes, "Mom, I just need a couple neck-tainers (instead of containers)."
Or this picture--lately Lucy really loves to come home from preschool and dress up. This was one of her most creative ensembles.
This morning all three decided they were ready to go to school. Isaac does have a more manly backpack but he prefers Esther's old Dora one (he is really into Dora lately, or "Dia" as he says it). Isaac was quite disappointed that he could only walk Lucy to preschool and not go inside with her. It's hard to be 2.
I wish I had a picture of Isaac's crib at night because that always makes me smile too--he always has his blankets and a couple stuffed animals, 7 or so Dora books, his cars, and then whatever toys he's playing with at the time he wants to also take those with him to bed. I let him because I don't want the fight and he usually goes to bed eventually, and then I just go in after he falls asleep and clear out his crib so he can have a more comfortable night.
Life isn't so bad, I just need to keep my chin up. I am off to clean my "now cooling" fridge.

Glad you got it fixed, but sorry you had to! And I'm glad your kids are so cute and funny to make up for it all :)
Kate, sorry you didn't have a very good day. A broken fridge is never fun! I know we've both been busy, but we've got to find time and get together soon! Both Lance and I have commented that it's been way too long since we've seen you guys! By the way, did you really dye your hair red? I've got to see it!
I so enjoy your posts. You're a good writer and a great mother.
Oh what a pain...i hope all your food didn't get ruined when your fridge conked out! At least your house guests were already gone when it happened, right? Count your blessings, i guess!
