Kindergarten Shots

Lucy had her kindergarten shots this week.  Boy, am I glad those are over.  She has been talking about them for the past six months and dreading them.  I was tired of hearing her tell me how she didn't want to go to kindergarten and I would have to ask why and it was always about the shots.  Now... she can start looking forward to starting elementary school.  She got four shots and she did cry pretty loudly--so much that Isaac got a trembling lower lip and almost started crying too.  Sweet Lucy cried all the way out to the car and then she seemed to recover.  I promised her a toy or a happy meal and she is really into Littlest Pet Shops so we went straight away and picked out a new pet for her collection.  After that she said, "Mom, why did you trick me?  You told me it would just feel like a poke and it did NOT feel like a poke!"  I wasn't sure how to respond so I just told her I was sorry that it hurt but I was happy for her to have them done!  She was pretty sore the next day and cranky but by Saturday she was boasting to Grandma about getting her kindergarten shots done this week so I think her life is on the upswing.
