Yesterday we got to have Esther's baptism. We have been preparing and talking about this event for the past month and it was so neat to finally see it happen. John baptized her and my dad confirmed her. Uncle Jake gave a neat talk on the baptism--and how she has now made the choice to "give herself to Jesus" and to follow Him. Auntie Ju gave a talk on the Holy Ghost and talked about how it can guide her life, bring her peace and comfort, give her promptings to protect her from danger and temptation, and teach her truth. Uncle Lige sang the Baptism song which was, of course, beautiful. I bore my testimony at the end and got all emotional--but I am so proud of her and I told her how much I love Jesus and how he loves and knows us personally and that the Holy Ghost is an amazing gift I hope she will use the rest of her life. Our sweet Bishop spoke at the end too and talked about how he was pretty sure that our Grandma and sweet Iris were probably with us. I think they were too--I hope Uncle Sam got to be there too. Heaven is a lot closer than it seems. We had lots of tears but it was still a sweet time overall.
Esther got to pick a cake from our sweet neighbor Miss Jen and we had a delcious Nacho Bar for lunch. It was an awesome day--uplifting and powerful. I sure love this girl.
