The kids had swimming lessons this week. We go to a pool at someone's house for private lessons because that works better when your kids are half chicken/half human. Actually, the girls have conquered their water fears for the most part and loved their swimming lessons. Isaac was my biggest worry since he doesn't even like the water spraying on him at Cherry Hill. The first couple days he cried a little bit and whimpered a lot but with lots of encouragment and the dollar bins bribe he was great by the end of the week. The last day he even jumped off the diving board five times without holding his teacher's hand. He came a LONG way! The girls improved their skills too and were asking if they could do more lessons this summer by the end. They are fish! (That's what my mom used to say to me. :))
All wrapped up and finished!
Working on back floats, survival technique.
Lucy sporting the cool goggles.
I know this picture is a little blurry but the kids couldn't stop laughing about this and how Esther's arms are raised up. I didn't get a picture of Lucy but she is the opposite of this jump--she has her arms at her side an jumps in straight as a board. I kept worrying she would hit her head on the diving board with how little and straight she jumped.
This is my favorite picture of all. I don't think his smile could be any bigger. He was SO EXCITED to be done and I think he was pretty proud of himself too for all he learned. Most of all, I'm sure he was happy to be DONE. He asked, "Mom, did I do berry gwate?" Yes, buddy-you were awesome!
