Wednesday, Sept 18, I was pretty sure I couldn't take another day of pregnancy. I had an appointment with my midwife and she stripped my membranes and told me I could come back that evening and do it again if I wanted. Feeling desperate, I went back. Later that night around 10 I started having regular contractions. My midwife had told me as soon as I feel uncomfortable to head to the hospital because I was already a 5-6 when she last checked me. We headed into the hospital around midnight. The contractions were very close together and painful by this point. I was planning on doing the hynobirthing method of delivery but things happened so fast I did not feel like I had much time to get into "relaxation mode." Natural childbirth was an experience--I think John was a little traumatized watching me go through it and if it hadn't happened so fast its likely I would have backed out. At 2:21 (Sept 19), after the most intense (physical) pain of my life, and a bit of yelling :), Wesley was born...
7 lbs 12 oz, 19.5 in
My smallest baby after Iris
He had a little bruising on his nose and face from coming out a little too fast.
It took us a while to pick his name from a few favorites--John conceded the name after watching me deliver Wesley naturally...
I let him pick the middle name.
Lucy couldn't believe we were actually going to bring him home the next day.
She loves holding her baby brother.
Isaac asked a couple times when the baby would start crawling around. At the hospital he really wanted to know when I was coming home. He does love Wesley though and always wants to give him "pets."
Esther was so excited to miss school to come see her brother.
She was a little grossed out with his umbilical cord...
We were so lucky to have Nana visiting to help us with baby and kids.
The girls immediately wanted to dress him and wrap him in his blankets.
Papa got to meet his second grandson born this month.
Excited to be going home after all that yummy hospital food and nice quiet uninterrupted nights. :)
Wesley figuring out how his tongue works.
I love how tiny he looks in his big carseat.
Love this picture of him on his snazzy blanket.
We take a lot of pics of him--we are a little obsessed.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! Thank you for sharing so many precious pictures of this new bundle of joy. And I just love his name. I can't wait to meet him one day! I'm so glad he is healing your hearts. I love that Isaac wants to play with him in a fort already :)
Wow! He looks so much like Isaac. He is so cute!! I am so happy he is here and that neither of us are pregnant any more. :)
