Esther had her 9th birthday. Eight still seemed young but 9 is a different story. We keep telling her to stop growing up but she just doesn't listen. She was pretty disappointed her birthday fell on a Sunday this year but I think she still had a good time. She wanted to have a late night with friends for her activity so we got pizza, ice cream, and candy and she had a good time with her friends. I had a little mom guilt about the amount of sugar ingested that night but they seem to be recovering okay. Esther was sweet to let her brother and sister join in the late night fun with her. They watched Ella Enchanted and then played games.
Esther is an amazing big sister. She is so good with Wesley AND with Isaac. She loves to "babysit" and occasionally we let her stay home with Isaac and Lucy while we run errands or go to dinner close by. It's pretty awesome. She has a very strong moral compass and wants to do everything right and perfectly. Esther is better at getting her homework done then I could ever push her to be. She loves her teacher and school. Esther loves to read, play games, hang out with friends, play the piano, and talk.
We had Grandma's meatloaf and sweet potato casserole for her birthday dinner along with Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream cake for dinner. She was thrilled to get some small "dangly" earrings and an ipod speaker for her birthday.
