Love my dad. Love my grandpa.

My sister found some cool old photos and sent them to us of my dad.

I just wish everyone could be so lucky to have the kind of dad that I have.  He is a solid supportive sweet hardworking loyal faithful man (the adjectives could go on forever).  I'll never forget the day we had Iris he called when I was in labor and asked when he should come.  We told him he didn't need to yet but a few minutes after she was born and they whisked her away he just showed up.  Even though he was grieving the huge loss of my mom he never let it stop him from being there for any of us.  He put us before himself just like he has his whole life.  My dad stayed by my side while John went to Primary Children's with Iris and while he didn't do or say a lot he was just THERE for us and that meant so much.  He gave Iris a name and a blessing with John and he held her and loved her on her one day of life, right along with us.  Then he continued to be there for us supporting us through the end of her life, then her graveside service, and helping us with all the horrible details of planning a burial, picking a headstone, etc...  It's just one example of how he's always been a rock in my life.  Love you dad.

Also...  this past week my sweet Grandpa Hess passed away.  He was another rock.  I can see where my dad got his amazing qualities.  My grandpa lived next door to us for a lot of my growing up and he was always so sweet and good to us.  I'm glad my kids got to know him a little bit.  It's a little sad to lose your last grandparent on earth.  I'm so happy for him that he is finally out of pain and reunited with my sweet Grandma Hess (and all my angel family in Heaven).  Love you Grandpa.
