We had a really fun Easter weekend. We started it off at our church for a "Spring Fling" with an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Esther called it the Easter egg "hundred". She LOVED it! It wasn't just about the candy either. Even after we told her she couldn't eat any more candy she took all the plastic eggs up to her room to play with them. When I went to wake her up from her nap I couldn't see any of the eggs. I asked her where they were and she replied casually, "Under my blankets." She had slept on all her eggs under blankets, one even broke from her hen tendancies. Even today she is still playing with those eggs. Putting the candy in, taking it out, lining them up, putting them in her basket with other toys. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to put the "Easter decor" away. She asked me, "Is it Easter today?" I'm glad she enjoys the holiday although I hope she remembers the "real" reason for Easter. I have to apologize for the Easter egg hunt pictures--John had the camera. Poor Lucy--every egg she picked up and opened I had to take away from her since most the candy is not Lucy friendly.

Esther wastes no time getting started on her candy!!

This is Esther trying to wink at me in the car on the way home. She was pretty convinced she had the wink down. There was face painting at the Spring Fling and Esther picked a little duckie... or is it a chick?

We went to the mall and Lowe's after and the girls had almost as much fun in the cart at Lowe's as they did at the Spring Fling.

This is from Easter Sunday. I curled Esther's hair and it turned out so cute--but I'm still not sure it was worth the whining and screaming throughout. You would have thought I was torturing her.

Here's the little posing princess:

And here is the mama with her two chicks. Of course the best photo of the bunch is one where Esther is waving at Daddy. Picture time is comparable to circus time at our house. It's when we pull out all our crazy faces and act as looney or cranky as possible. We went to Stu and Beth's later for Easter dinner and Beth took some family photo's for us so I'll have to post those later. I guess the imperfection is a better representation of how are life really is... which is still pretty fabulous!

Kate, love the pic of you and the girls. And, Esther's hair turned out fantastic. you are brave. Kennedy loves those silly carts, somewhat free entertainment if you can walk out of the store without buying anything :). You look great!
