Potty Training Lulu

This week has been pretty slow--I decided to potty train Lucy since I had lots of time on my hands. To be honest, I was dreading it. It was not a great experience with Esther and I always hated hearing those stories about kids who potty trained in a day. So with trepidation, and a new spot bot, we started last Thursday. Wow... Lucy loves the whole potty experience--wearing panties like Esther, going on the big potty like Esther, etc... She is quite enthused to be doing something so "big girl" and she has done SO WELL. There was only two little accidents the first day and since then she has been perfect. Don't worry, I'm not getting my hopes up just yet because Esther had a few regression periods. But for now, I'm really excited that she is doing so well. The only hard part was the first day Lucy wanted to change her clothes and panties EVERY time she went potty and that was A LOT... thus the picture with one of her many outfits that day--she was too stubborn to let me fix her shirt and I was too tired to care. By the end of the day I was so EXHAUSTED. The second day we went to Grandma's house to avoid the changing of clothes and she had zero accidents and went every time on the "big" potty. She liked to sit there and tell me she was going to fall into the water--she thought that was so funny. Anyway, I am so proud of her and happy to not be an embittered potty training mom anymore, and OH SO HAPPY that by the time baby #3 gets here we will have just the one little baby in diapers. The only thing we need to figure out now is how to keep Lucy's shorts and pants on now that she has no diaper padding to keep them up.

congratulations! that is a huge hurdle you have successfully crossed! i'm so happy it went so well for you. wouldn't that be funny if as grown ups we changed outfits everytime we went potty? :)

What?! I am so in trouble! AJ will be in diapers forever!!! Mikko will be potty trained before him! I'm so jealous. I will be buying THREE different size diapers!!! And no hope of having AJ potty trained by November. Who knows though... I guess he could go through a sudden growth of understanding, motivation, and becoming self sufficient. nah...
