There are two things that Esther says that make John and me laugh out loud every time she says them.
#1 Instead of saying, "You crack me up!" Esther says, "You crack me OUT Mommy!"
#2 Instead of saying "ridiculous" with a "u", Esther says "ridicl-i-ous." What makes it even more funny is she has no idea what it means. The other day before ballet she came to me and in a very dramatic tone said, "Mom, you know what is really ridiclious?... my ballet shoes!!" She said this because she didn't know if I remembered to get them out of the wash so they could dry. Of course, being the super mom (ha ha ha) that I am they were already outside drying so I reassured her and her only additionaly complaint after that was that the bottom of the shoes still looked dirty.
Then tonight, while I was vacuuming Esther and Lucy were sitting on a chair together watching. She had me stop for a minute so she could tell me her latest wish: "Mom, I wish my legs were little like Lucy's." When I asked her for an explanation she said, "Then I could be like Lucy." I then gave her a quick little lesson on growth--how some day Lucy's legs will be as long as hers but then hers will be longer then they are now. Esther was shocked to hear that Lucy was growing just like her, but I don't think I explained it enough so she understands that she will have longer legs then Lucy for a long time, and maybe always. My girls make me smile.
