Sweet Sisters
One of my favorite things in the world is to see my girls being sweet to each other. Last week Lucy had a well-child appointment so Esther was right there with us and asking me five hundred times if Lucy was going to get a shot. She even told me she was going to watch but when the nurse came in Esther changed her mind at the last second and said she could not watch! As soon as the nurse was done Esther was right by Lucy's side trying to give her a hug and comfort her. Whenever Lucy is sad or hurt Esther will say to her in the sweetest little voice, "Ohhhhh sweetie! It's okay." It's so freaking adorable. Last Sunday I mangaged to talk John into going on a little stroll (he hates pointless walks). The girls needed to burn some energy but after a couple streets Lucy decided she was done walking and stopped. Esther, or should I say Officer Esther, informed us of Lucy stopping about three times. John and I decided to pull the parenting trick where we pretend to say goodbye to Lucy and just keep walking. Since Esther was not in on the trick she just lost it and screamed, "WHAT ABOUT MY SISTER??!!!!" Then she decided to take control and went back to get her stalling sister: "Come on Lu Lu!! You have to keep walking." Lucy being the independant stubborn girl she is of course didn't respond and we eventually had to carry her home with no more great tricks up our sleeves. It was a great walk and I think the only reason John enjoyed it was hearing Esther yell at us like we were really just forgetting Lucy and leaving her there. Parenthood is priceless.

I can never get Sam to take walks either!
Esther truly does have such a compassionate heart towards Lucy. It is a beautiful thing to see.
Awwww...your girls are so darling. I actually teared up reading about Esther's sweet little heart (even though you already told me the story!).
That really just hit home... Matthew just called from his school's nurses office because he was worried that Sam didn't have his inhaler today. I hope these sibling love-fests never end!
